Sally: We are just going to be friends, OK?
Harry: Great, friends. It’s the best thing…You realize, of course, that we can never be friends.
Sally: Why not?
Harry: What I’m saying is - and this is not a come-on in any way, shape, or form - is that men and women can’t be friends, because the sex part always gets in the way.
Sally: That’s not true. I have a number of men friends and there is no sex involved.
Harry: No, you don’t.
Sally: Yes, I do.
Harry: No, you don’t.
Sally: Yes, I do.
Harry: You only think you do.
Sally: You’re saying I’m having sex with these men without my knowledge?
Harry: No, what I’m saying is they all want to have sex with you.
Sally: They do not.
Harry: Do too.
Sally: They do not.
Harry: Do too.
Sally: How do you know?
Harry: Because no man can be friends with a woman that he finds attractive. He always wants to have sex with her.
Sally: So you’re saying that a man can be friends with a woman he finds unattractive.
Harry: No, you pretty much want to nail them, too.
Sally: What if they don’t want to have sex with you?
Harry: Doesn’t matter, because the sex thing is already out there, so the friendship is ultimately doomed, and that is the end of the story.
I’ll bet you didn’t know this historical fact. Long ago, certain types of manure used to be transported (as everything was back then) by ship. Well, in dry form it weighs a lot less, but once water (at sea) hit it, it not only became heavier, but the process of fermentation began again, which by- product is methane gas.
As the stuff was stored below decks in bundles you can see what could (and did) happen. Methane began to build up below decks and the first time someone came below at night with a lantern…… BOOOOM ! !Several ships were destroyed in this manner before it was discovered what was happening. After that, the bundles of manure were always stamped with the term “S.H.I.T” on them which meant to the sailors to “Ship High In Transit.”
In other words, store it high enough off the lower decks so that any water that came into the hold would not touch this volatile cargo and start the production of methane gas.
Copied from an online article on Oprah’s Website:
There comes a time when the pain of continuing exceeds the pain of stopping. At that moment, a threshold is crossed. What seemed unthinkable becomes thinkable. Slowly, the realization emerges that the choice to continue what you have been doing is the choice to live in discomfort, and the choice to stop what you have been doing is the choice to breathe deeply and freely again. Once that realization has emerged, you can either honor it or ignore it, but you cannot forget it. What has become known can not become unknown again. (more…)
The following is from an article I read a while back.
First of all, I think everybody should restraint from using the word love. Love is both holy and sinful; it represents too many human’s naked emotions and characters: pleasure, pain, devotion, hatred, jealousy, desire, despair. It is a word too heavy to be spoken out loud. (This is the reason why I despise love songs that abuses this word.) So please, respect this word and use it only if it means life and death to you. (more…)
While I know that the universe is completely “connected” by that force we call spirituality or God or whatever, there are higher bonds between us as human beings. That higher bond exists between those who have shared the same path to a similar point in their evolution as a soul. When we find ourselves face to face with a soul of like mind and of like timing (or thereabouts), its like we have found “ourselves” in their thoughts and in their spirit. The short version of this whole thing is this “We feel that bond because we see so much of ourselves in each other”. (more…)
