This blogger makes no claims as to the accuracy or effectiveness of these interpretations.  Reader’s use of the information obtained below subsequent to this post is assumed at your own risk……..With that said - Here’s the list!

  • FINE - This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.
  • FIVE MINUTES - If she is getting dressed, this is half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given 5 more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.
  • NOTHING- This is the calm before the storm. This means “something” and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with “nothing” usually end in “fine”.
  • GO AHEAD - This is a dare, not permission, DON’T DO IT!
  • LOUD SIGH - Although not actually a word, the loud sigh is often misunderstood by men. A “Loud Sigh” means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you over “Nothing”.
  • THAT’S OKAY - This is one of the most dangerous statements that woman can make to a man. “That’s Okay” means that she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.
  • THANKS - This is the least used of all words in the female vocabulary. If a woman is thanking you. Do not question it, just say you’re welcome and back out of the room slowly.

We made it to London and back! Here are links to three slide-shows on Phanfare capsulizing the trip we took from April 20 - 24, 2006.

The slide-shows are divided up into the albums to highlight the events as they happened. We were there for 5 days, but Day 3 ended up being the most scenic, hence its own album (the photo in the middle). Our first two days of sight-seeing are captured on the first album (the first photo on the left). Days 4 and 5 of more sight-seeing, and Don Lawrence’s running of the London Marathon are captured in the last album (the photo on the right) via the pictorial and short video.

I was first introduced to this poem when I watched the movie “Coach Carter“. The character Timo Cruz (played by Rick Gonzalez) says it to Coach Carter (played by Samuel L. Jackson) when Timo is asked by Carter what he is afraid of. He then recites the following;

a return to love - by marianne williamson

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant,
gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking
so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously
give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.

I found this on someones blog on Myspace and it really spoke to me. It reminds me of the lessons taught by Guy Finley in his book “Let Go, and Live in the Now” (See it here). ENJOY!

There are people who can walk away from you. And hear me when I tell you this, when people can walk away from you; let them walk. I don’t want you to try to talk another person into staying with you, loving you, calling you, caring about you, coming to see you, staying attached to you. I mean hang up the phone. When people can walk away from you let them walk. Your destiny is never tied to anybody that left. [...Read More....]

This is one of the greatest lines on what marriage is I have ever heard. It’s a new perspective that I had not heard before and really caught me by surprise in what was actually a great movie, “Shall We Dance“.   It is the actress Susan Sarandon’s response when she asks the question, ‘Why Do We Marry’ ……….

“There’s a billion people on the planet… I mean, what does any one life really mean? But in a marriage, you’re promising to care about everything. The good things, the bad things, the terrible things, the mundane things… all of it, all of the time, every day. You’re saying ‘Your life will not go unnoticed because I will notice it. Your life will not go un-witnessed because I will be your witness”
